WINLF now hiring - Business Client Development Counselor
Position: Business Client Development Counselor Reports to: Director of Client Development Wages: Based on experience Status: Full-time hourly position (90-day probation period)** Location: TBD upon hire (Remote, On-Site or Hybrid options available). Must reside in the State of Wisconsin. Closes: Open Until Filled Summary: This position provides training, technical assistance, networking and business development support to Native American entrepreneurs in the State of Wisconsin. Major Duties: · Development, coordination, and deliverance of business education classes, training, workshops, and educational materials for business clients; including teaching. · Aid clients in creating business plans and securing business startup/expansion financing, including assistance with loan applications. · Provide one-on-one business counseling/coaching and technical assistance (TA). · Serve as a knowledge base to connect entrepreneurs with educational and financial resources. Coordinate mentorships as appropriate. · Responsible for client intake,communication, data entry, impact tracking,and basic bookkeeping/accounting. · Assist with data collection and compliance for grant-seeking and fundraising.
· Intermittent travels to Wisconsin Indian Reservations and/or within the State of Wisconsin for classes, counseling/coaching, and to provide TA required. · Other administrative functions as assigned to support program/office operations. Minimum Qualifications: · Associates degree in education, business,finance, accounting, or another related field, and/or an equal amount of experience in a related position. · Experience with financial statements, spreadsheets, tax returns,and loan applications. · Understanding of lending procedures, documentation, and regulations applicable to Origination and servicing of business loans. · Highly organized with ability to work independently, prioritize workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. · Experience in client development/teaching skills is preferred. Ability to develop plans and speak in front of an audience. · Proficient in the operation of basic office equipment and Microsoft Office Software. Experience with accounting (QuickBooks) and loan portfolio software preferred. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · High ethical and professional standards. Confidentiality in all matters. · Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects with accuracy. · A valid driver’s license,reliable transportation, and automobile insurance are required.
